What is a Public Insurance Adjuster?
A Public Insurance Adjuster (PIA) is a licensed adjuster that works directly for you, the policyholder. A public adjuster can represent you in first-party property claims and negotiate your insurance settlement. As a fiduciary, a public adjuster MUST legally and ethically act in your best interest at all times.

However, a public adjuster is NOT a lawyer and cannot represent you or practice any form of law outside of the insurance claim you have hired them for. Before a public adjuster can negotiate your claim on your behalf, they are legally required to have a signed contract with the policyholder.
